- What you see is not what you get
You would think a webpage would look the same everywhere. Oh contraire! If only that were the case it would make my job a lot easier. Everyone has a different setup on their computer which can affect how a webpage is displayed. I’m exhausted just thinking about all the possible configurations! Testing could be a full-time job so I focus on the most common setups.- Different Browsers
(Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera) And all of them have different versions! - Different Screen Resolutions
(800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024) - Different Connection Speeds
(Dial-up, ISDN, Cable, Broadband, Satellite)
- Different Browsers
- HTML & CSS Validation with W3C – I use a strict doctype for all my pages and validate the html and css.
- Broken Links
- Spelling and typos
